The Golden Dome

Big Daddy

This is the USS Alabama in Mobile. It sits directly on the bay and is a big tourist spot. The ship was commissioned in 1942 and retired in 1947 after serving in numerous battles during WWII. The ship was moved to Mobile Bay in 1964 and opened as a museum.

Old V. New

This was taken as I was turning the corner and seeing the new RSA Tower in Mobile, Alabama. This tower stands as new commerce for the city and a beacon for future hope. It stands over 700 ft in the air. It's the tallest building on the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Tampa.

There were very few decent flowers for this little guy to test out that day. But he managed to find one of the last and I'm glad he did. He almost made it easy for me on this day. The Old Mill

This Old Mill is at Sweetwater Creek State Park in Georgia. It was in use years ago right along the riverfront. Once the building started falling apart, the state park service closed off the area. That's when all of the leafy growth happened. Now it's quite a site.

Town Center

Virginia Beach has never really had a real downtown to speak of. They decided to create a new center of town for art galleries, hotels, restaurants and theatres. It's all new and currently expanding to include additional townhomes and condos. This was photo was taken on Thanksgiving night.

Mobile, Alabama

This is my hometown of Mobile, Alabama. This shot was taken on a day that was both warm and full of rain. The sky is somewhat ominous in this shot. It was taken from Fort Conde. Fort Conde is Mobile's visitor center. Visit if you're in the area. Mobile is a beautiful city that is both now and then. The history is fantastic and the current urban scene is growing.

The Color Purple

This photo was taken shortly after a rainfall and a quick sunburst. It dried almost immediately, leaving it with this color that you see here. It was a little lighter before the rain.
